"Whew! 😅 ‘Mary & George’ on #STARZ is a sizzling and spicy watch! 🌶️ Julianne Moore and Nicholas Galitzine deliver intense performances as their characters scheme to win the favor of King James I. Both actors really bring the 🔥heat, seduction, and power dynamics to life.
This deliciously bold post-Elizabethan era #periodpiece serves up its fair share of #intrigue, #manipulation, and, of course, #spicy relationships—both hetero and homosexual. The series allows these intimate relationships to evolve organically and authentically, while keeping things tasteful and packing plenty of tension and #drama into each scene.
If you’re after pure #historical accuracy, switch your remote to PBS! But if you’re looking to shut off your brain and revel in the pageantry, this show is definitely entertaining with some steam & sass!

"I’m into history and have an interest in this particular period. I was very much looking forward to seeing this series.
Julianne Moore was fantastic. There was some very witty dialogue in this script, and plenty of intrigue. That said, I found the series an overall disappointment due to the flagrant liberties taken with history (that were completely unnecessary for dramatic purposes) and the lack of character development allowed for the King, or in truth most of the characters.
Very sad; was hoping for much more of this series. "

"While it occasionally veers away from complete historical accuracy (similar to the Serpent Queen), this is a bawdy tale that proves to be incredibly entertaining. I really enjoyed it. If you are a purist, this isn’t for you. Julianne Moore is fantastic though, as is the actor playing King James. "
