Deep down in the Pacific Ocean in the subterranean city of Bikini Bottom lives a square yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants. SpongeBob lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, loves his job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab, and has a knack for getting into all kinds of trouble without really trying. When he's not getting on the nerves of his cranky next door neighbor Squidward, SpongeBob can usually be found smack in the middle of all sorts of strange situations with his best buddy, the simple yet lovable starfish, Patrick, or his thrill-seeking surfer-girl squirrel pal, Sandy Cheeks.

"Like so many other shows, the longer the series goes on the more the characters regress. SpongeBob while happy-go-lucky wasn’t an idiot but the later seasons changed that. Similar cases for the other characters. The earlier seasons are a much watch but the farther you go the worst it gets. "

"I'm gonna get so much flack for saying this but even as a kid I hated the nonsense this show had. I liked overarching plots not dumn tasks to accomplish or obstacles to overcome in 20 minutes. Sure I watched it when I had nothing else to do at home and there were no other shows on but I still kind of hated it. I think it is a classic that will always be in people's hearts. Clearly in all our memes too. But let's just say I'm glad I don't have to only pick between Disney, Nick, or Cartoon Network for entertainment anymore."
