"This first season of this horror anthology has a little bit of everything for horror fans... Gore, sci-fi, hauntings, mystery, and debauchery. Each of the 8 stories is made by a different director, with a few familiar faces thrown in throughout the series. Each has their own unique style and pace. Some I liked more than others, but the stand out episodes for me were The Autopsy and The Viewing. Looking forward to watching another season. I give it an 8/10."
"Top tier horror anthology. Most collections of this nature are usually hit or miss, but every single film here is a hit. My favorite, by far, is Panos Cosmatos' The Viewing. His brand of storytelling is just right up my cosmic alley. Other stand-outs: The Autopsy, Pickman's Model, & The Murmuring. But really you can't go wrong with any of them."
"I’d say most of what was brought to the table with this project was successful, nothing was down right awful but just okay with some really cool ideas behind them regardless and the things that worked really worked and made it worth the watch overall. I love the idea of the this show and giving directors the freedom to spread their wings how the see fit with what seems like any idea they thought would work for the project. Some of my favorites being The Autopsy, The Outside and The Murmuring respectively but Graveyard Rats was a fun watch as well. The others where either a little to slow or to strange with no real substance for my liking perhaps needed a little more mending before shot. But overall I love the potential with this show and want to see more of what it can be capable of."
"Generally a big fan Of Guillermo. Mixed feelings about this one. More fantasy/anthology than horror. "

"My daughter and I just started watching this tonight. We could only watch two episodes and can't watch anymore until next week due to her work schedule. I'll rate each of the episodes.
Episode 1: Lot 36
We didn't care for this one. The main character was played by Tim Blake Nelson. We usually love his acting, but it was less than par in this. The ending left a lot to be desired. It feels very unfinished in a way that went beyond how shorts can leave things open. It's not like you don't know what happened. It's that you need more. Like, this could be the opening sequence of a longer movie. Anyway, can't say much more without giving things away.
Sadly only 2/5*s.
Episode 2: Graveyard Rats
There were pros and cons to this one.
Cons: No one talked right for the time period. Especially bad were the two young grave robbers at the beginning. And one was especially horrible with extra bad acting compared to the other. One part made me laugh, what he said was so stupid and poorly acted.
Pros: Even though the main character didn't quite have the right accent for the era, he was fun to watch. His facial expressions were quite good while also being funny sometimes. Despite being considered one of the scarier of the 8 episodes, it was also pretty funny, due entirely to our main character. We loved the intense Edgar Allan Poe feeling this short gave us. My daughter thought it was very Lovecraftian as well. I thought the end of the first short felt kind of Lovecraftian but I didn't get that as much from this one. My daughter has read Lovecraft so she's definitely the better one of us to know. Regardless, it was funny, scary, creepy, and we both really liked it.
3.75/5*s
