It's main theme is definitely "finding herself" and I became so proud and attached to Saylor/Emma. It's definitely slow-burn in more ways than one, but it's a good calm book to read during the summer."

emily_b_4897 shared a tip "Just finished this the other day; it is so good!! The characters are super relatable and the story does a great job of providing insight on multiple people's perspectives. The romance in this is adorable and sweet, but there's also a lot of focus on friend and family relationships as well as self growth. Overall a beautiful and meaningful story. Would read again."

Emma Saylor goes to her mom’s home town, a lake town, and discovers her moms story and her own roots. She also become a reacquainted with the boy she grew up with... there’s a little summer romance in this book too. Super cute!! Would totally recommend as a stand alone summer read."

This book can be infuriating at times if you don’t have patience but it’s worth it. It teaches family and friends and crushes and jobs and just a great read for a day on the beach…or the lake."

shewolf shared a tip "I don’t know how to explain, it is currently 4 in the morning, all I’ve done for the past 2 days was read this book and can I just tell you how IN LOVE I AM WITH THIS BOOK? I just finished it and it was just so good to the point that I am high key upset that it’s over. Like seriously I wanted to scream when I noticed I was on the second to last page. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a classic story about a girl learning about her history and where she is from. Love it!"
