Kerri Maniscalco
In this New York Times bestselling sequel to Kerri Maniscalco's haunting #1 debut Stalking Jack the Ripper, bizarre murders are discovered in the castle of Prince Vlad the Impaler, otherwise known as Dracula. Could it be a copycat killer . . . or has the depraved prince been brought back to life? Following the grief and horror of her discovery of Jack the Ripper's true identity, Audrey Rose Wadsworth has no choice but to flee London and its memories. Together with the arrogant yet charming Thomas Cresswell, she journeys to the dark heart of Romania, home to one of Europe's best schools of forensic medicine . . . and to another notorious killer, Vlad the Impaler, whose thirst for blood became legend. But her life's dream is soon tainted by blood-soaked discoveries in the halls of the school's forbidding castle, and Audrey Rose is compelled to investigate the strangely familiar murders. What she finds brings all her terrifying fears to life once again.

"<b>OH MY GOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!</b> THAT WAS SO GOOOOOOD!!!!!!!! That was Every bit just as good as the first one!!!!!! I had No Inkling of who the killer was this time, I was SO SHOCKED AND HURT!!!!!!!! I also REALLY loved the character development of our 2 mcs, and how the relationship changed and was challenged throughout the book!!!!!! Definitely will be starting the third book ASAP!!!!!!"
"A sequel that, somehow, was even more amazing than its predecessor!! With hilarious banter, an eerie setting, an even eerier mystery, and a deliciously agonizing slow-burn romance, this book truly has it all!! The ‘Stalking Jack the Ripper’ series is my newest obsession and I can’t recommend it enough!!! 💖💖💖"
"For the record, I only read this as a colleague raved about it, and I quite enjoyed Bran Stoker's <i> Dracula </i>. I only read the previous book because I found out it this was book 2 and not a standalone.<br/><br/>I am beyond disappointed with this... specimen that calls itself a murder mystery. It first fails as a murder mystery as the only mystery the two ***** teens are solving are their feelings for each other. It then fails as a Gothic horror as Audrey Rose (AKA your Mary Sue) consistently reminds you that there is no such thing as vampires and it's all about science. However, she also consistently thinks that vampires are lurking in the darkness in every other bloody chapter. The last hundred pages were painful to go through. As with the first book, too many artistic licenses have been taken I found. <br/><br/>The story itself was repetitive and followed this formula more or less: person disappears, person winds up dead, Audrey Rose sneaks out of bed to try to investigate but fails, person 2 disappears, person 2 winds up dead, etc, etc. Don't forget the constant lectures on feminism as were present in the first book as well. It's 1888 in the book, not 2016. Act like it. In spite of this, I couldn't help but notice how Audrey Rose constantly longs for Thomas' attention and approval and his help. Any "plot twists" present seem poorly planned and quite random like "where tf did that come from??". <br/><br/>TL;DR: If you like Gothic horror or murder mysteries, don't waste your time with this."
"<i>”’He huffed a laugh. "What, exactly, do you suggest, Wadsworth?’<br/>‘Pull yourself forward while I tug’<br/>‘How ... silly...of... me to panic. While dangling...inches away... from certain death.’"<i><br/><br/>4.5<br/>i’m not going to go super in depth, but i did not like this one as much as the first one. (after reading the 3rd: it is better than the third). at some points i was very, very bored. but other times i was like wow!!! ya know. (i think this book nearly put me in a slump.)<br/><br/>audreythomas supremacy!!!!"
