"A very cute, quirky book! Reena and Nadim are cute (though it’s hard to get over Nadim’s secrets). I love the Indian culture and food described in the book. I think Heron does well to include the double diaspora component of Reena’s heritage being a Canadian child of Indian-Tanzanian immigrants. I absolutely love that Reena refuses to “water down” her culture or recipes. I definitely recommend this book. It’s got food, quarter life crisis, and a hot Indian Captain America with a British accent. "

"3.5 stars. I thought this was a cute book. If you enjoy reading about arranged marriages this is for you. Even though the family has it arranged they want to live their own lives. However, when a couple cooking competition came up, they pretend they are engaged."

"This was not what I expected when I read the title of Accidentally Engaged. I thought it would be a couple who pretended to be engaged in front of their family and then end up falling in love. Despite the is not being what I expected, I still really enjoyed it. I like how the couple had to work together in order to win a cooking competition and through this experience they find that they have a lot in common. What started out as an arranged marriage turned into a live match! (Also now I really want to learn how to bake bread!"
