laurenmr shared a tip "nished listening to this book a few hours ago and I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about this book. I loved listening to it; Julia Whelan has an amazing voice and her skill at all the accents is amazing. I’m still confused at how I can be in love with a female American’s male British accent. The first half reads as romance, a passionate romance, not a ton of depth to characters, but really enjoyable. The second half reads as a work of fiction meant to twist your insides and leave you thinking. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and Ella and Jamie were just so perfect. The emotion and fear and realizations were so well written that I ached for the characters. I’m not spoiling the ending, but as long as you aren’t expecting a lighthearted read, this book is so worth reading. I’m still not sure if I’m happy or disappointed with the ending. I only wish there was a little more depth and backstory of the characters, but overall; a masterful debut novel. 4.5⭐️, 2🌶"
