sheldon_rapoza shared a tip "The history of the “Crusades” all wrapped into one book. I like Dan Jones writing but this topic is so broad it really is hard to follow. There are so many different people and places over the 5-6 ish Crusades that it is helpful if you are familiar. This is written chronologically as much as possible which helps. Also gives an interesting take at the end about how Terrorism today often references crusading, which begs the question if it ever really ended."
