In the trauma center of Atlanta’s busiest hospital, Sara Linton treats the city’s poor, wounded, and unlucky—and finds refuge from the tragedy that rocked her life in rural Grant County. Then, in one instant, Sara is thrust into a frantic police investigation, coming face-to-face with a tall driven detective and his quiet female partner…. InUndone, three unforgettable characters from Karin Slaughter’sNew York Timesbestselling novelsFaithlessandFracturedcollide for the first time, entering an electrifying race against the clock—and a duel with unspeakable human evil. In the backwoods of suburban Atlanta, where Sara’s patient was found, local police have set up their investigation. But Georgia Bureau of Investigation detective Will Trent doesn’t wait for the go-ahead from his boss—he plunges through police lines, through the brooding woods, and single-handedly exposes a hidden house of horror buried beneath the earth. Then he finds another victim.… Wresting the case away from the local police chief, Will and his partner, Faith Mitchell—a woman keeping explosive secrets of her own—are called into a related investigation. Another woman—a smart, upscale, independent young mother—has been snatched. For the two cops out on the hunt, for the doctor trying to bring her patient back to life, the truth hits like a hammer: the killer’s torture chamber has been found, but the killer is still at work. In her latest suspense masterpiece, Karin Slaughter weaves together the moving, powerful human stories of characters as real as they are complex and unforgettable. At the same time she has crafted a work of dazzling storytelling and spine-tingling mystery—as three people, each with their own wounds and their own secrets, are all that stands between a madman and his next crime.

"love this series!"

"Undone by Melissa Cassera is the third book in the Lockwood Triology. It’s by far my favorite out of the triology for several reasons. It has so many twists and turns. It finally allows some intimacy between Henry and Natalie. There’s so many little Easter Eggs from previous books or the spin off Black Sea. It’s truly amazing.
The books starts off at the beginning of Control the first of the series. Natalie is sent back in time or rather a new timeline thanks to Amelia at the end of Unravel. Instantly Natalie realizes something is wrong and shortly regains her memories back after meeting Henry again for the first time in the new timeline. The book proceeds to have Natalie and Henry fight their way through Amelia’s traps and magic. We find out who Natalie’s real father is and why Amelia is obsessed with Natalie. We also find out more about Natalie’s and Wes’s powers. Between betrayal, survival, transformation and love this story keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to piece through everything. Who’s telling the truth? Who’s on Natalie’s side? What does Natalie have to do to save her loved ones?
My favorite thing about this book is the recall to Black Sea. It definitely links them together and it’s done beautifully. I love Cy ends up trying to be the good guy after being deemed the evil character. The realization about who characters are in the Lockwood Triology and Black Sea are truly shocking and mind blowing. So much so I had to message Melissa on Instagram during my reading.
My least favorite thing about this story is more of a personal issue and less of an issue with the book. I am glad that Henry and Natalie finally got to have some intimacy but I felt like after all of the angst and desire it was very muted. I also read some very heavy **** books so this being a “muted” scene is more on me than on the writing.
This easily got a 5 out of 5 stars. My very first one of 2024 actually. I love this book as I’ve stated before and I’m very excited to read about further characters like Adip and his family. Melissa has a great story here and I can’t wait for the rest."

"DNF @33%. I’m truly, and I mean this literally, baffled as to how anyone thought this was good or well written. The MCs are near in love with each other and have a grand total of like….6 full sentences said between the two of them. It’s also poorly written, with sentences broken in half with random periods"
