There are worse things than death. Things that lurk in the shadows and slip into your dreams. Things that have no business existing. Things that once slept ... but have now awoken. For Callypso Lillis, the fae magic that now runs through her veins is equal parts curse and good fortune. For the very thing that bonds her to Desmond Flynn, the King of the Night, also makes her vulnerable to the Thief of Souls, a man who wants to break the world ... and Callie along with it. But it's not just the Thief whose shadow looms over the Otherworld. Des's father is back from the dead, and he wants revenge on the son who sent him to the grave in the first place. Des and Callie must figure out how to stop both men, and time is running out. Because there are forces at play working to tear the lovers apart once and for all ... and unfortunately for them, death is no longer the worst thing to fear.

"I thought this was a really good conclusion to the series! So many plot twists, very action packed, good world building, and the characters are, as always, lovable! I will miss Callie and Des, but I'm thrilled that they finally got their happily ever after! If you enjoy spicy fantasy books then I would definitely recommend checking this series out!"
"What a great end to this series! Was very engaging and easy to read. I'm kind of disappointed it's over, the two main characters are so cute together."

"Dark Harmony The Bargainer #3 Laura Thalassa is the final book in this series.

Callypso Lillis (Callie) now has fae magic that saved her life and now she needs to get used to her new and enhanced powers. Her mate bond is finally connected and they can feel the full effect of their bond. The negative thing about Callie being fae is now The Thief of Souls can fully attack her. When she was human with siren magic, that helped her to not fully succumb to his magic. As strong as Desmond's magic is being the King of the Night, his dark shadow power is the same as The Thief so his magic does not work on him.

"Don't be frightened of yourself cherub, you are exactly as you should be."

Des's father is back from the dead, and he wants revenge on the son who tried to kill him. Des and Callie must figure out how to stop both men and time is running out. Two strong villains are trying to overpower all of Fae. They have been disappearing and the men who are taken don't come back and the women come back in a coma state carrying babies who have characteristics of the Night. The Thief invades Callie's dreams and taunts and threatens to take her and they have no idea how to stop him. They are running out of time and the people who were taken are a time bomb waiting to detonate.

"I am the beginning and the end. I am death and darkness but I am infinitely more. I am what came before and I am unending."

Although sometimes this series gets very dark and sad, it occasionally has a bit of comic relief, which is appreciated. Toward the end of the book, things got serious and Callie's siren needed to take the wheel. Thankfully her BFF Temper is a spitfire and she comes up with some great comments. Thankfully, a few lines made me chuckle which was very much needed. Desmond's sperm donor Gallagher is an evil asshole and Callie and Temper enjoy making him do things against his will since he not only hates females but especially hates human females and refers to them as slaves. Of course that doesn't sit well with these two badass women so they take advantage of Callie's siren when dealing with the king of nothing. During a bit of a quest that they dragged him to, Temper made Gallagher refer to her as "My Great Goddess of Fuckery and Other Magical Things." Then Callie made Gallagher refer to her as "Oh Dark Queen Who Thinks I'm a Douchebucket of the Most Epic Proportions." and the icing on the cake, Callie made Gallagher refer to himself as "Galleghar O'Malleghar, King of Asshats, Killer of Boners, Wannabe Emperor Who Needs to Eat a Bag Of Dicks and Die." Now that one made me laugh out loud.

This final book is bloodier, spicier, and more challenging not only for Callie and Des, but all the kingdoms. I thoroughly enjoyed these books; they had everything I typically enjoy in a fantasy book.

Fated Mates
Found Family
Mystery
Mayhem
Murder
Spice
Morally Grey
Touch her/him and die
Strong female characters"

"This book felt both too long and too short. The first 2/3rds of the book could easily be condensed or sped up, and the last 1/3rd needs to be slowed way down. The climax lasts like 20 pages out of the 450. Callie figuring out the mystery is regularly undermined by the fact that either it's painfully obvious to the reader chapters before Callie figures it out, or Des clearly knew that long before and just didn't tell her.He has his reasons, which we learn, but it's annoying to read. The heavy assault theme of the last few chapters is very uncomfortable and unnecessary."
"Yeah, I don't really know what to do with my life now. I was irrevocably thrown into this universe, completely engulfed in the story for the last two weeks ~ walking with Callie and Des to find the Thief of Souls, witnessing their love blossom, and watching the both of them grow.

I... almost... want... more.

So, here we go...

Des is Gomez Addams. That is the best way I can describe him. He is haunting, chaotic, brutal, yet loving, romantic, and supportive. And so so kinky. He fits the trope "I hate everyone but you." When he loves, he loves HARD. And he stops at nothing to continuously show and prove to Callie that she is exactly who she is meant to be, and that she is enough.

Callie. Oh, Callie. She goes from being broken, being a victim, being the damsel, then molded and evolved to this force to be reckoned with. She's still the clumsy, loud-mouthed, no-filtered noob of a person, but she blossoms into this power that she has. Instead of shying away from it, she takes control of it and OWNS it.
"If I blended in more, could I have escaped the abuse I endured? No. No, I could not have. There will always be bad men, and they will take and take and take. But so will I. People like us are not victims. We’re someone’s nightmare."
YAAAAASSSS QUEEEEEN

Now, for the critic (because I just have to).
There were some details that I was just missing in this book ~ What happened to the casket children? Or the sleeping soldiers? How was their end? What happened with Mara?
Then...
The climax was actually just a bit anti-climatic for me. However, I'm not entirely disappointed.
Building up to that point this book had me bawling my eyes out. My heart felt like it was ripped out and torn to pieces. I felt this characters pain, their grief, their misery. And only well spun words can make a person feeeel those feelings in a book. So am I entirely disappointment by the time I was done with this book. Absolutely, positively not. I had this book shelved on my Favorites even before I was done, and it's staying there."
