Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. She never imagined that she would end up back in her sleepy New Hampshire hometown, living in the house she grew up in and taking over her father’s beekeeping business. Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start. And for just a short while, these new beginnings are exactly what Olivia and Lily need. Their paths cross when Asher falls for the new girl in school, and Lily can’t help but fall for him, too. With Ash, she feels happy for the first time. Yet she wonders if she can trust him completely. . . . Then one day, Olivia receives a phone call: Lily is dead, and Asher is being questioned by the police. Olivia is adamant that her son is innocent. But she would be lying if she didn’t acknowledge the flashes of his father’s temper in Ash, and as the case against him unfolds, she realizes he’s hidden more than he’s shared with her. Mad Honey is a riveting novel of suspense, an unforgettable love story, and a moving and powerful exploration of the secrets we keep and the risks we take in order to become ourselves.

"I listened to this book on audio, this story is filled with a variety of messages as well as lessons to take into heart. Jodi has such a talent for detail in the way she brings you to feel what the characters feel. Just when you think the story has come to its end a bomb is dropped tying this book with a bow. I am excited to read another one of this authors books!"
"I really loved this book. It delves into the issues of transgender and helps the reader better understand the life they experience. I enjoyed the story, the character development was excellent and, as a mother, I felt empathized with the love and pain the mothers we’re experiencing in this story. I did NOT enjoy the lecture from J Picoult at the end of the book. Does everything have to be politicized these days???really??"
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bees are actually one of my biggest fears 🤪 This book was fantastic from the start. I fell in love with Lily and Olivia. As a mother, I felt Olivia’s pain as she watched everything unfold with Asher and I so badly wanted him to be everything she believed him to be. My heart broke for Lily’s mother and I admired her protecting her through and through even in death. I was so shocked through the entirety of the novel and it’s hard to properly write a review without spoiling a major plot twist. A must read for everyone. This book deeply moved me and challenged my ways of thinking and maybe some unjust views I didn’t realize I had. I feel that I’m a better person after reading this. It’s important and powerful. Devastating and dark. This is the best book I’ve read this year. "
"This book is absolutely phenomenal. I love how Jodi Picoult tackles current issues in a tactful, engaging, and compelling way. This is a murder mystery but it has a twist you never see coming. Jodi offers a different perspective on a very important issue, one that a mother has to struggle with. The love for your child will make you go to the ends of the Earth in order to protect them. "
"Here is Jodi Picoult just Jodi Picoulting…If you are familiar with her books then you know what I mean. She has a way of getting you to feel for every character and you see the story from multiple view points. There was a major plot twist that I did NOT see coming at all that changed the whole trajectory of this story. There are a lot of heavy topics and it is not a “feel good” story, but still a good and informative read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
"This book dragged at some points. I was surprised at others. Definitely not as good as some other Jodi Picoult books I have read. It certainly was a great book for discussion! What really makes a woman or man? Is it chromosomes? Is it biology? This book could trigger some people and probably offend others. But an interesting read. I personally prefer when she is the sole author. "

"I have a lot of different thoughts about this book. I was completely hooked to Asher’s story and found myself questioning if he was an unreliable character. My desire to know how the court case went made it hard to enjoy the chapters where the timeline continued to get further away from it. I loved how informational the writing was. I learned so much about not only bee keeping, but all the random facts Lilly knew. Left me wanting to cross check and see if it was true. Would have been 5 stars if the Lily chapters had more to do with the rest of the story. While highlighting her story and struggle, I felt it didn’t contribute to the overall plot of the story. "
