This is not going to be a good series for me lol. I absolutely love her Infernal Devices trilogy and The Last Hours trilogy, those are the best written books I've read. And I can definitely say that Cassandra Clares writing improved drastically. This book was not that intriguing to me, at first it was within the 100 or so pages in the beginning. But then it got overly descriptive and it was kind of unnecessary to have. Sometimes, and I'm not sure if the editor didn't catch this or they just didn't care, some things would be said twice or talked about again as if they just didn't talk about it. That was annoying. The storyline, at least for me, was all over the place. The fact that they're were so much fighting between everyone and not alot was getting done, it felt like it was dragging. The main character, Clary, was annoying 🙄. She seemed like a whiney, "I want what I want now" teenager, and I kind of just wanted to slap her lol. Sometimes she would point out the obvious and still question it or she would be like "I know the answer before he even says it. I know he's going to say my mother did it..." and then proceeds to act shocked and hurt by the revelation. Jace on the other hand, I loved. He gives me the feeling of Will and James Herondale. The rest of the characters felt like they blended in with background. Having the "betrayal" by Hodge and Dorothea revealed wasn't really a "twist" for me. I basically saw everything coming. ASIDE FROM CLARY AND JACE BEING SIBLINGS!!! Although I should've seen it coming lol. I really hope it's not true, but I guess we'll see. I did watch the movie a while back and it was so bad that I fast-forwarded almost half the movie lol. Also, I love seeing Magnus Bane, I hope he stays in this storyline. Anyways, it's not going good so far, I only have the first 3 books in this series and I'm hoping that's all I need in order to read the Dark Artifices, of someone knows please tell me lol."
