"I read a few reviews that people have left and I am SHOCKED. I loved this book maybe even more than the first.
I think people’s issue is that they care more about the relationship than the individual. Boo-hoo that couple changed but this woman came out so amazing.
Some of the characters in the first book felt a little too teenager in their relationships and all that changed in this book. This was about so much more than their relationships which made it a lot better.
*
*spoilers for previous book and minor/vague spoilers for this book*
*
Seeing Beatrice as queen gave me total girl power vibes. It wasn’t the motive and didn’t feel pushed. It was amazing! Seeing as she is the first queen, she is battling a lot of prejudice even in her own staff. I loved getting fired up a long with her.
Some people were also frustrated with rotating relationships in this book versus the previous. I found the previous relationship not quite perfect and these just"
"I have done it. I have finally found my least favorite book of all time.

Well, to be fair I haven’t actually read many books that I even disliked, let alone hated, so this book doesn’t have much competition. But still. This was absolutely horrible.

Take everything that I loved in American Royals: juicy secrets, a thrilling plot with tons of drama, and angsty romances, then just throw all of those things out the window. Oh and also, take all of those perfectly crafted romances that you spend 440 pages getting invested into in the first book, and just throw those out the window too. Then, take all of the complex characters and their unique, individual, realistic personalities, and switch them all around and mix them up until not a single character has a defining personality anymore.

When you throw out all of these things that made American Royals so special, and add in completely new romances that the reader will spend the entire time hating, literally zero plot line, repetitive and just flat out bad writing, (okay but seriously how did Katherine McGee’s writing get worse in this book???) put them in a pot and stir it all together, you get Majesty.

I might have been able to overlook some of this books flaws, had this been a trilogy or a series. But no, sadly American Royals is only a duology and this book is the conclusion to the story. There were so many loose ends that were never tied up, and this book really didn’t have a conclusion at all. Perhaps if this book had not brought in totally new relationships and instead had just wrapped up the ones from the last book, this could have a satisfactory ending as a duology. But it didn’t, and it wasn’t, and I physically cannot express just how disappointed I am in this book."
"When I heard that there was a sequel to American Royals I was so excited. I love stories about princesses and to hear a story like this set in America, well it’s very unique. Throughout the entire story I was surprised with the things that were thrown at you and I did not see the ending coming. Overall I love how this story turned out and now I am hoping there is at least one more book in the series. There are still so many questions I still have about these characters!"
