"It's like Wreck it Ralph for big kids! *Spoilers ahead! Read at your own risk!* I love James Dashner's books so much <3 The beginning was a tad confusing but since I finished the book, I understand it a whole lot better. The characters, I immediately fell in love with. I'm afraid though, that Sarah will end up being bad and against Michael, like Teresa in the Maze Runner, which would be really disappointing and sad because I really love her and Michael together (It sort of reminds me of Cam and Risa in the Unwind series, except I actually ship this couple). The other kid—Bryan, was it?—was alright I suppose but not my favorite. His ego was through the roof and he ended up just chickening out (and I don't really get why). All of the struggles were kind of wierd, but it's okay that they were because of the setting and situation. The whole 'Sleep' and 'Wake' thing was sort of mind-spinning, which only increased a TON by the end of the book. I thought that the VNS was going to actually be Kaine, just appearing to fight against himself to trick Michael. Actually, I'm still sort of confused by that but hopefully my questions will be answered in the next book. It was a really good book, and I'm AMAZED at how Mind-Boggling the ending was. I really, was not expecting that to happen and be how it was. I had some guesses, but I still don't know if I'm right. *Spoiler* I was not at all expecting Michael to be a tangent (Part of why the whole Cam and Risa thing^^). And then the 'Sleep' and 'Wake' stuff only gets more complicated since Michael's sleep is actually his wake? but not everyone else's wake—can he go into the 'real' world? Did he?—I'm kind of really confused about those parts since Bryant (I hope that was his name) and Sarah are real. Anyways, good book, mind-blowing, and very much recommended to people who like 'boy' books, Dashner's style, video games, brain puzzles, mystery, futuristic, action, head-spinning-mind-blowing-still-figuring-it-out-after-a-week kind of books :)"

"This book was, in a word, disappointing. I wanted to read it because the blurb reminded me of [b:Ready Player One|9969571|Ready Player One|Ernest Cline|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1406383612s/9969571.jpg|14863741], a book I loved. It had some similarities to it, but it wasn't of the same caliber.

The Eye of Minds. I don't even know how to explain it. I don't think I connected with the characters the way I did with [b:The Maze Runner|6186357|The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1)|James Dashner|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1375596592s/6186357.jpg|6366642] characters. I couldn't understand what "coding" meant in this world and I had to Google a few terms e.g. Aura, Core, Tangent to understand what was supposed to be explained in the book but apparently I missed.

I liked the beginning, then I thought it was okay, then I was confused for a while, then I seemed to skip a lot of details and by the last chapter I was pretty sure I was not going to continue the series. Then came the plot twist and I didn't see that coming. I really enjoyed the twist at the end, but it wasn't enough to redeem the whole book. It was just enough to make it "okay".

I think I will be reading the next book because I'm curious and because I want to be less confused. But it's not a priority."
