"This story follows four college friends into adulthood, a simple premise with a set of complicated characters. The author does not shy away from really difficult topics and situations, so heed all trigger warnings (as noted in most all reviews). I was immersed in these lives, but had to pause several times to absorb the gravity of the trauma. Not a light read. "
"One of the most heartbreakingly beautiful books I’ve ever read. I feel like these characters will forever be in my mind. "

"Relentlessly sad and exquisitely written, Hanya Yanagihara spares us no mercy when revealing the story of such a broken, intense young man, and it is a difficult read. Its brilliant writing, its broken characters, and its bleak, unforgiving story dug into my heart. This book is one of my favorites so far this year. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
**Strongly recommend checking trigger warnings prior if you are sensitive to sexual assault, self harm, abuse, etc. "
"just finished a couple seconds ago and im literally sobbing right now…it took me a while to finish this one, not because it was so long or boring but because how much i relate to it and how difficult it was to read this book but i truly loved this one. hit too close to home but the last four sentences of this book has me still sobbing. 🫂💗"
