Tessa Bailey
The first in a spicy and unforgettable rom-com duology from #1 New York Times bestseller and tik tok favorite Tessa Bailey, in which a Hollywood “It Girl” is cut off from her wealthy family and exiled to a small Pacific Northwest beach town... where she butts heads with a surly, sexy local who thinks she doesn’t belong. Piper Bellinger is fashionable, influential, and her reputation as a wild child means the paparazzi are constantly on her heels. When too much champagne and an out-of-control rooftop party lands Piper in the slammer, her stepfather decides enough is enough. So he cuts her off, and sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father’s dive bar... in Washington.Piper hasn’t even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won’t last a week outside of Beverly Hills. So what if Piper can’t do math, and the idea of sleeping in a shabby apartment with bunk beds gives her hives. How bad could it really be? She’s determined to show her stepfather—and the hot, grumpy local—that she’s more than a pretty face.Except it’s a small town and everywhere she turns, she bumps into Brendan. The fun-loving socialite and the gruff fisherman are polar opposites, but there’s an undeniable attraction simmering between them. Piper doesn’t want any distractions, especially feelings for a man who sails off into the sunset for weeks at a time. Yet as she reconnects with her past and begins to feel at home in Westport, Piper starts to wonder if the cold, glamorous life she knew is what she truly wants. LA is calling her name, but Brendan—and this town full of memories—may have already caught her heart. As seen on E!Online, PopSugar, CNN, EliteDaily, Vulture, Buzzfeed, Bustle, the Nerd Daily, PARADE, LA Magazine, Country Living, USA Today, and more!

"⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 This romcom has too much of the stuff I don’t like but probably a lot will like. I prefer characters to be a bit mature, not obsessed with instagram, no over abundance of sex scenes, minimal swearing and respectful language between them. Yeah I’m old lol. But I swear I’m not a prude 😂 BUT the characters grew on me, matured and grew in the book too, learned to appreciate what’s important (it’s really just the shallow MC) AND I liked the story. Just needed to fast fwd a lot 😉"
"I LOVED this!!! It was a pitch perfect rom-com of a book. The premise was interesting and not too unbelievable. It was funny and playful while also being in the realm of reality. Piper was a lovable and real protagonist. I just wanted to be her best friend and I really wanted to hug her when she was struggling with her self-worth issues. As for Brendan, he has made my standards for men skyrocket. He is right up there with Mr. Darcy in regard to swoon worthy fictional love interests. I am being so serious right now. Brendan and Piper were everything a romance couple should be: flirty, hot (those sex scenes were no joke), and completely trusting and understanding of one another! They were constantly looking at situations from the other person’s perspective and willing to go above and beyond to accommodate them. Seriously, this may be the healthiest relationship I’ve ever read in a romance book which made it 10x more sigh inducing. "
"*WARNING THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS* Wow, I really enjoyed this one. This was my first Tessa Bailey read and I liked it. I will say that I didn't like the fact that Brendan fell in love(even though he didn't realize it at first) within the first 50 or so pages. I think there could've been more room to have that part developed. This book kind of reminded me of the movie overboard, except he's a captain not a repair man, you know? But their chemistry was nice, I really loved Pipers character development, it showed so much progress on how she views not only the life she had but herself also. I liked Hannah too, I think I'll probably like her book more, because Fox was actually pretty funny at times. The romance in this book was not alot but alot, if that makes sense. I didn't need to know what other "parts" were doing or what they did to a certain part of the body, you know? I wouldn't say I would go out and buy this book necessarily but who knows, right? Great read."
"This book was very enjoyable and I love an MMC that knows from very early on what he wants and is unwavering so I loved Brendan's character for that! It was a fun setting, and I liked the characters' growth throughout. There were a few plot things that were a bit weird. Specifically, Piper's mom and her warnings early in the book felt like they were going to weigh more heavily in the plot, but sort of fell flat. Also, Daniel was such an important character in the overall plot but again faded in the end which left it feeling like there were some loose strings. Maybe that leaves room for more in book 2? There was some spice but having read some great Tessa Bailey spice in the past and hearing that this book was on the spicier side I had high expectations that fell a little flat.
Overall, this is a cute romcom style book with some very cute moments. My heart melted at every mention of the "recharging station". If you are looking for a cute light romcom romance this is a good option! "
