INSTANT USA TODAY BESTSELLER“Witty and macabre.”—Caroline Kepnes"Slick and chilling."—Megan Miranda“I read all of her [books]. I've read everything.”—Cecily Strong from SNL for Vanity Fair“A perfect summer book.”—NPRUSA Today bestselling author Samantha Downing is back with her latest sneaky thriller set at a prestigious private school—complete with interfering parents, overeager students, and one teacher who just wants to teach them all a lesson… Teddy Crutcher has won Teacher of the Year at the prestigious Belmont Academy, home to the best and brightest. He says his wife couldn’t be more proud—though no one has seen her in a while. Teddy really can’t be bothered with a few mysterious deaths on campus that’re looking more and more like murder or with the student digging a little too deep into Teddy’s personal life. His main focus is pushing these kids to their full academic potential. All he wants is for his colleagues—and the endlessly meddlesome parents—to stay out of his way. If not, well, they’ll get what they deserve. It’s really too bad that sometimes excellence can come at such a high cost.

"4/5. Usually I love a good villain but Crutcher ****** me off more than most people. Great story, though."

"This is Samantha Downing's best book yet. It was bonkers, and I mean that in the best possible way! Everyone in this book was a pretty terrible person, but yet I was rooting for them the entire time. It has all the elements of a great, fun book - a private school and rich people behaving badly. This is the one time I thought the epilogue was perfect, especially the very end!"
"Ah I love a book about a Prestigious School with rich bratty kids. You know the minute a minor wind blows they will go nuts. This is book was no exception, especially when the bodies started piling up T Bellstone Academy.
Lucky for them the Teacher of the Year, Teddy, takes his title seriously and he proves to be a very eccentric character. He thrived on glasses of white milk, a big no for me lol.

I loved the short characters, the multiple povs, involving many characters. Each character was highly developed.

The k you for the gifted copy"
"Man.
This book.
This book is just -CHEF'S KISS-
If I had enough braincells left I'd insert a gif, so imagine it there.
I kept holding to the edge of my seat, to the point I was almost hanging on it for dear life.

I never had a ****** teacher myself, but reading this felt like I was another student in the hellish place that is Belmont. That's how immersive it was.
My heart kept craving justice, and boy, did I get it.
It's a shock, after shock, after shock. Felt like I was physically fighting this book and I LOVE THAT.

Straight into my Favourites tag.
Do yourself a favour and make this book your next nemesis. You'll thank me."
