I'm a little over half way through this book. Personally I feel like it's a little too simplistic. don't get me wrong its a heartwarming young love sorta story, but idk... whats your thoughts on it?

Rissa🪐 I’m in the middle of that book right now too and I feel the exact same way tbh :/ it’s still really cute though.

Nicole Roche I read it a few years ago, it’s still in the top 3 best YA books I’ve ever read.

Stephanie Collins Definitely one of my tops books as well!! This one stuck with me for a while #AllTheFeels

Marsh Hated this book. The way the white girl fetishized the Asian guy (by a white author no less, and never called out on it or park feeling awkward about it) and all the references to his mom being doll-like really rubbed me the wrong way.

H2000 It wasn’t my favorite romance book, but the story was still cute

Lana i haven’t read it because it’s racist and don’t plan on it

Becca I definitely need to reread it now that I’m a bit more socially aware than I was at 14 (lol). But I will say that it was one of the first YA romance books I read that represented plus sized and Asian love interests (whether it’s actually good representation, however, is another question).

Aesthetic_Honey This is personally my favorite book and I love every part of it but I really can see where you're coming from. I'm just glad that you aren't one of the people complaining about how it's "racist" when the story literally takes place in a time when there was a lot of racism so it makes sense.

Marsh If the racism was actually handled well, I could understand- but there’s just no nuance to it at all. 🤷♂️ so I dunno how else I’m supposed to take it. I feel that if someone is trying to represent a minority and they don’t actually come from that minority, they need to hire minority consultants to see if it has that nuance.

Serena same but it made me cry SEVERAL times and I will love it for that reason alone. It was more like a “I can never be with you” and it made my heart burst in a way
