Brandon Reed I actually don't love the term MLM. It's a more neutral-sounding euphemism than the older term "pyramid scheme," which more accurately describes the model, because the uppermost level does reach a singular point, and it spreads out as it moves down, like a parasitic plant digging its roots into its host; and, of course, because it is a scheme designed to make people think that it's a good way to accumulate wealth.

Sean Mythos I will respectfully yet firmly disagree. The vast majority of MLM participants either lose money or come out making less than minimum wage. MLMs often specifically target people who are financially vulnerable and funnel their alleged investment to an up line that very clearly benefits those established at the top of the pyramid. Seems like the truth is the exact opposite of what is often claimed by the companies.

Chris Rufkahr (she/her) Have you heard this podcast? It does a great job exposing some of the worst MLMs. I have someone close to me involved in one that is awful and she's spending too much money on it - money she doesn't have. She's putting it on credit cards. I'm so ticked off but I can't say anything directly about it or she'll shut me out. She has totally drank the Kool Aid. I like to refer to them as MLPs - Multi Level Pyramids.

James Neumann @RUFtotheRESCUE You might want to phrase these as more general statements. "Do you Agree/Disagree with this statement: ________" Sometimes it seems like you 100% agree with what you're saying
