Does anyone wonder how long it will be until Disney runs out of animated films to remake into live-action movies? I feel like this really could go either way - an excellent incarnation that could stand on its own merits or a shell of a project that lacks creativity and originality. Road Master I've already seen an entire list of movies already slated for the live-action treatment. It's impossible to say what's going to happen with Disney right now or in the near future. They've been hemorrhaging money for several years now and there are no signs that it's going to stop.

Ryan The scary thing is, they own Pixar too. Is there anything stopping them from doing the same thing with those Pixar movies when they run out of Disney animated movies?

Road Master They already are. Disney and Pixar are pretty interchangeable at this point.

Brandon Reed Part of it depends on how deep into the library they're willing to go. Would they remake Treasure Planet, Robin Hood, Atlantis, and A Goofy Movie, films that didn't do as well commercially on initial release, but have since become cult classics? Do they still own the film rights to the Rescuers, Basil of Baker Street, and Prydain Chronicles books? Or were those rights under license to begin with? If so, then those licenses would have expired long ago, but they could always re-license them. I think they couldn't do Tarzan unless they licensed the movie rights from Sony, who now owns the character's film rights, but they could take a swing at that. In any case, I don't think they'll stop until they stop making money. Their willingness to make a Lion King prequel basically proves that.

Road Master Atlantis is one of my absolute favorite movies ever. So I'm on the fence about whether or not I'd like to see a live-action adaptation.

Russ Hoyt @MarlinBrando good point. And there is no way of knowing how far they are willing to go. It may depend upon how desperate they get.
