Has anybody heard of this? Read it? It sounds pretty good. But I couldn't get a sense of what kind of fantasy it is. Is it cozy? Is it romance heavy?

Iman So from what I’ve read from the description it’s a romantasy which means it is romance heavy.

Iman It’s a fantasy love story

Road Master I got the impression it has romance. I don't mind that. But if it's basically a romance that just also has some fantasy elements, that's not my thing.

Iman Same here. I need something more than a love story.

Michael Prentice I have not read it, but it is listed as romance as well as fantasy, which makes me think it would be heavy on the romance. Since a lot of stories do tend to incorporate at least a little romance no matter the genre (and not listed as romance), I tend to think that when it is listed as romance, beside other's it may listed under, it's going to heavy with it. Just my thinking.

Road Master Yep. I'm inclined to agree.

Julz Apparently this is her romantasy debut so I think it will have lots of romance but idk if it’s the main thing or not. I want to read it though.

Road Master It sounds really charming, for lack of a better word. I just might give it a shot.

Sarah Ortinau I just finished it, there is a romance, but there’s nothing explicit…honestly it’s weird that it’s considered romantasy, because I didn’t really feel like there was that much romance within it. It starts where Keila the main character has to leave a library that is burning down, with her best friend who is a spider plant with a bunch of spell books she’s smuggled out. From the way the book starts you would think it was really full of adventure, so after the first two chapters it is just her life on the island. Growing plants, trying spells, and making friends and jam. It’s very whimsical and slice of life, but if you’re looking for something that is very adventure and plot focused, this might not be for you (if you’re looking for something like that but also cottage core vibes try “After the Forest,” Assistant to the Villain, or Howl’s moving castle”). No, it’s not a romance with fantasy elements, it has a very whimsical world with characters and magic. Most of the story is more about gaining friendships, and starting a new life. I gave it 3 stars, mostly because I’ve read books that do the same thing that I connect with more, but I think if you’re looking for a cozy summer fantasy this is a good book to read.

Kerri Lehman I just finished it, it's very cozy & lighthearted. It takes place in a fictional world with fictional creatures + magic. The romance is light, but still an important part of the story. It's an enjoyable read!
