"The trailer for Presence is a bit misleading, but don't skip it. I'd say it's definitely more of a family drama horror than anything. I especially appreciated the look of the presence's perspective. The reveal at the end is quite rewarding if you've been paying attention throughout. For me, this experiment worked."
"What really stands out about this is the way it was shot. We get this perspective that we are looking through the eyes of this “Presence”. So we are going from room to room with these long unbreaking shots. So we are getting bits and pieces of conversations and trying to piece together what’s important and what isn’t. What is playing a role with this ghostly presence? What does it want, and how will it proceed after making itself known? We get all of this with the backdrop of this family with a lot of drama. The mother clearly loves the son more than her daughter and is doing everything for him. She is even involved in something that sounds shady or even illegal at work. She pretty much runs the household. The father is there for but clearly is more connected to his daughter. The son is a self-absorbed star athlete. The daughter is depressed and dealing with the lose of her close friend. She is the one to fell the presence first. Why? What we see play out with this presence, and the reveal of what this was is expertly done. I promise you will guess but you won’t figure out what it is. If you do please let me know what the clue that gave it was away, lol. It is listed as a horror, but it is really a mystery thriller. Nothing scary about this one. Could have used a little more editing to make it a bit tighter. This is a great movie and a must-see for everyone. Especially fans of the genre. "Presence (2025) is a chilling and cerebral thriller that masterfully blends psychological tension with supernatural undertones. Directed with a meticulous focus on mood and atmosphere, the film keeps viewers on edge without relying on cheap jump scares. It’s an experience that lingers in the mind long after the credits roll.
The story revolves around a protagonist grappling with grief and isolation, drawn into a mystery that unfolds with a deliberate pace. What makes Presence stand out is its ability to make even the quietest moments feel unsettling, thanks to impeccable sound design and a haunting score. The cinematography is equally striking, painting an eerie, almost dreamlike visual palette that mirrors the protagonist's emotional state.
The cast delivers powerful performances, with the lead embodying a raw vulnerability that anchors the narrative. The supporting characters are well-crafted, adding depth to the story without overshadowing the central arc. The writing is sharp, balancing ambiguity with just enough clarity to keep audiences guessing.
While Presence might not appeal to those seeking fast-paced action, it’s a must-watch for fans of slow-burn thrillers and atmospheric storytelling. With its evocative visuals and gripping narrative, Presence (2025) is a testament to the power of subtle, intelligent filmmaking."
"Short and straight to the point, that’s how I like it. This movie is pretty short but so much gets revealed in that little bit of time. I enjoy it when movies have an easy to follow story that slowly builds up and explodes with unexpected events. This movies does all of that. What I also really like about this film is the pov camera style they did with some of the effect to amplify the mood. Everyone played their roles great too. It was to the point where I genuinely didn’t like Rebecca and Tyler.
My only issue is they could’ve added a bit more and all the damn cut scenes got really annoying. 3.5/5"

"If you’re looking for a movie that truly captivates, Presence is a must-watch. It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a film this thoroughly. While it has its share of eerie moments, the goosebumps come more from the immersive storytelling than the scares. The unique perspective makes you feel like you are the presence in their house, adding a fresh, intriguing layer to the experience. Though the ending leans into familiar territory, the journey is solid and engaging from start to finish. Highly recommend giving it a watch!"
