"This movie is messed up and this movie also reminds me of the girl next-door, which is another movie that’s really messed up"

"This is definitely the most horrific case of child abuse based on Sylvia Likens. It’s very hard to watch and knowing all the details this girl actually went though is crazy. This is so much closer to actual events then “The Girl Next Door” which just takes the story and makes up plots and people that were never there. I did my research on the actual case and this film follows it very close in comparison."
"I really hate when people compare this movie to The Girl Next Door... too many people think this is just a watered down version of that movie and a poor rendering of the book by same name. The reality is this movie has absolutely nothing to do with The Girl Next Door. That book exploited and glorified a real life crime and takes up the brutality up 10 notches and the movie adaptation is no better. This movie actually treats the real life victim with sensitivity and some respect."
