Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaidia

"It's a sequel to Barbie fairytopia and the film that follows this one is Magic of the rainbow. All three are worth watching. Even if you are not a young girl, you can enjoy barbie movies. At least if you enjoy disney movies, you'll like these too. Only these have more complicated storylines than you think. Its not simply girl falls asleep, guy kisses her, they live happily ever after. Instead (for this film) it's friend is kidnapped, fairy trades the wings she just earned for a tail, then go after friend, and save a kingdom. In fact, Barbie, or Elina, doesn't even have a love interest in this one. The Barbie movies are something else and rival original Disney princess movies in story, inspiration, sometimes even songs, definitely female empowerment, and more. I can't recommend them more. This one in specific though is on the weaker side, but what do you expect from a sequel to a great movie. Fairytopia was phenomenal and this one had to follow it. It held its own, but I will always prefer Fairtopia or Magic of the Rainbow over Mermaidia"
