"This film is a revelation. The clown takes on social commentary and is an invaluable look at society before World War II. If I do have a criticism is it peaked too soon. But everything up to an including the prison blow scene is worth the price of admission. Another criticism that could be hurled at this film is it's tenuously connected set pieces. It's more like a series of shorts, but I don't care. This film is aces in my book."
