"3.5⭐️ This is hard to rate because the premise is so perfect ~ portraying the Black experience in White culture as a horror story (because it actually is) was pure genius. However the tension takes awhile ramp up and I was slightly bored in the waiting. Once it does though it doesn’t let up and is all the more chilling and terrifying for imparting a sense of hyper reality. It’s crazy right? Buut IS it? Crazy things HAVE happened in history and still do. There’s an analogy here that I don’t want to give away but is probably easy to figure out. I was riveted in the horror of watching it play out. Even so how it wraps up was disappointing to me. **btw NO spoilers here** Not for what happens but the way it happens..and I wanted more. It’s VERY abrupt. Still..definitely worth watching for horror fans and social commentary!"
"“Get Out is a documentary” - Jordan Peele It’s easy to make a movie about the bigotry of the ⚪️ conservative/the south/Pacific Northwest. Doesn’t matter if it’s horror or not but they’re such easy targets… low hanging fruit. It’s also easy to get ⚫️ torture pawn published and I’m sick of that Sh!t. Till is the most recent release of that genre. I don’t need more reminders of ⚫️ suffering when my library is filled with books about that. Butttttt… Get Out does the opposite and exposes the ⚪️ liberal’s hypocrisy, through horror no less, which is why it will probably be the only movie of its kind. Man it’s my generation’s “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.” This movie will have a special place in my heart and everyone should be proud and surprised that this got released let alone the reception it got. "Jordan Peele's first feature film that was so well received and critically acclaimed, and rightfully so. I'm pretty sure he won the Oscar for best original screenplay on this one. He is leading the way in the genre of African American driven horror movies. This is probably my favorite one of his so far (Nope is second, and then Us.) 9/10"
"Oooo, Get Out is so good, this is Jorden Peeles best constructed films. The story is pretty relevant and we should all stop and listen to what it has to say about the black Experience. I love how he opened a door for blackness in horror like we’ve never seen and I want to see more, please let other people do horror besides white men please and thank you..we need more voices in the mix. "Honestly, I thought this movie was horrible. I understood the premise of the story, and I knew what he was trying to portray, but it was absolutely horrible and they say this movie won a awards. I don’t know how."
