"This movie is unintentionally horrific— it is really close to being a cautionary tale of dealing with a manipulative, abusive relationship, but then decides you should feel bad for the abuser by the end. I know disease and cancer is horrible but their relationship is toxic af. Sakura drags around Shiga, isolates them from everyone and guilt trips him constantly. It is quite a nuanced situation if they actually stuck by it but they don't. Don't let the music and cute characters sway you— If the roles were revised, the abuse would be a no brainer. "
