"I must be easily entertained because every review I read/watched made this out to be garbage and it def wasn’t imo . Typical teen horror flick that yes to reiterate everyone is sooooo predictable but it’s fun . "

"I didn't like this movie at all. It was a lot of talking, and I understand that's supposed to happen in movies. But not like this. Things seemed to happen out of nowhere. Also, events seemed rushed. I felt like they tried to use the score to make scenes scary or tense, but the music didn't match the scenes in my opinion. My daughter loves horror too and fell asleep 40 minutes in."

"It was a fun movie to watch especially as a family. Characters were nightmarish and the storyline was descent however not much jump scare as hoped."

"I read the other reviews. It's amazing how several people will call it boring and predictable and not funny and not scary and bad acting, while others say it's fun, interesting, scary with lots of jump scares, great acting Are these people even watching the same movie?
Well, here are my 2 cents. I'm on a budget.
I really enjoyed this movie. It was fun seeing Jacob Batalon in a character who is NOT Ned Leeds, Peter Parker's bff. Although he did have a similar personality albeit older and less sweet, for sure. I am not sure why some people say they were laughing at the bad acting. I'm not bashing them but I really don't get it. I thought the acting was very good. Nothing Oscar worthy but not trash-talking worthy either.
People said it was full of scary movie tropes. I can agree with that but I think it was an interesting storyline. Does anyone go into the basement alone? Yup. Are there a lot of jump scares? Uh huh. Was there a final girl? I'm not saying. But the whole tarot card intermingled with astrology was definitely cool. Someone said it's not accurate. I am no expert but I've dabbled in both, mostly astrology. I thought it all sounded fairly correct but even if it's not, I doubt anyone is going to watch this movie to gain knowledge on either subject. I guess I feel there was a lot of bashing on the movie and I didn't agree with any of it. But that's what reviews are for, right? Honest opinions. I respect their opinions but I don't agree with them.
Someone said this was listed as a comedy. It's not a comedy. It's a scary movie with some funny moments. Nothing laugh-out-loud funny, in my opinion. There is no gore. Gore being guts and brains and lots of blood. Even deaths that would be quite gory were not shown. This movie IS scary though. I really enjoyed that. Scary, creepy, disgusting "monsters" for lack of a better word. Great sets, locations, costumes, effects, cinematography, sound, etc.
See comments for the rest of my review."

"Predictable but still very entertaining. New spin on horror with the cards coming to life. Felt a little predictable though. "

"3.5⭐️ Nice little horror movie. Had all the elements you look for (less on the gore side tho) and the story was clever and made sense. There was some lazy writing right at the end that didn't distract from the rest tho."
