"Different plot/story for sure - stars for the genius idea behind this movie about population control but the acting was subpar. "

"I thought this movie was a fun watch. I was entertained from the beginning to the end. I personally did not love the writing. It never seemed to sound natural, and I thought the acting was a bit off at times. I did enjoy the storyline. I thought the concept of the movie was a great idea, it made me think a bit. I recommend this movie to anyone looking for a good thriller. Especially to those that like the movie Ready or Not."
"This one hit a little differently because I could see this actually happening in the future. Hopefully I'm not around for this lol there is some sort of environmental collapse and there is no longer enough resources to sustain the population. So much so to the point 20% of the population needs to go. For now it's voluntary however they are talking about doing a draft to be killed for your country and humanity overall. As you can imagine class comes into it. A rich person versus a poor person. Who has more to live for? How do you evaluate of someone is worth living? Interesting questions they posed here. Things come to a head when a rich family is forced to make a decision. I really liked the social commentary however I really didn't like the ending. I don't think it was true to how those characters would really behave based on what they showed us. Overall it is a pretty solid watch. "A dystopian ambience serves as a backdrop for this story, which is very interesting, with lots of intrigue and suspense.
The performances are great, they really elevate the plot. The development of the story could be more dynamic, sometimes the changes and twists sound exaggerated, a greater objectivity would make the movie more captivating."
"A pretty solid psychological satire thriller. We need more of those today as the political social climate becomes more absurd by the minute. The premise for this one is definitely disturbing in its own right and sadly seems like a somewhat plausible response from our governments who feign interest of its subjects. In short, a global warming climate change has is destroying the natural resources of the world and the government (presumably a North American one) requests that people “enlist” (become euthanized) to try to decrease the population by a mandatory 20%. Of course the governments definition of enlisting has a large grey area and things become complicated and at times darkly comedic when the government comes knocking on the door of a wealthy family. Great performances all around from the cast of mostly unknowns. What I appreciated about this movie was the satire and criticism extended to both sides of the political and social isle. No one is safe and it points a finger at anyone and everyone to emphasis the hypocrisy and corruption on display. Does it always work? No. Is it always clear on its message? Nope. Some things could have been done a little better but this movie has lofty goals and observations and for the most part it succeeds and I applaud it for that. Oh, and this movie was directed by Caitlin Cronenberg. Yes, David’s daughter. It’s nice to know we have another Cronenberg on the scene to challenge audiences. All in all recommended. "
"I'm not a medical professional by any means, but if someone gets stabbed in the neck, wouldn't they.. idk.. die?"
