"
Species (1995) is a sci-fi horror film directed by Roger Donaldson. The plot revolves around a genetically engineered alien-human hybrid named Sil, portrayed by Natasha Henstridge. Sil was created by a government project that combined alien DNA with human DNA, resulting in a being of extraordinary intelligence and strength. However, when Sil begins to exhibit dangerous and uncontrollable behavior, the scientists decide to terminate the experiment.
Sil escapes from the laboratory and makes her way to Los Angeles. As she matures rapidly, she has a single-minded goal: to find a suitable mate and reproduce. A team of specialists, including a molecular biologist (Ben Kingsley), an anthropologist (Alfred Molina), an empath (Forest Whitaker), and a government agent (Michael Madsen), is assembled to track her down before she can fulfill her deadly reproductive mission.
The film explores themes of genetic manipulation, the ethical boundaries of science, and the primal instincts for survival and reproduction. The pursuit of Sil leads to a series of suspenseful and violent encounters, culminating in a climactic showdown as the team races against time to stop her.
Species blends elements of horror, science fiction, and thriller genres, making it a gripping and thought-provoking film."

"hilariously terrible, I loved that they turned anthropologist and empaths into basically superheroes instead of scientists"
