"This is a master class of acting from a high caliber ensemble cast. Proof that even a simple premise can be elevated to great heights with a quality script, performed by elite actors. Some of the best lines ever. If you haven't seen it , go now and watch it. You can thank me later. 10/10"
"Technically a rewatch (first time in years). This is a damn good movie. It somehow manages to make an incredibly stacked cast delivering razor sharp (and outrageously funny at times) dialogue so riveting to watch (Alec Baldwin’s monologue near the start really sets the plot in motion). Every single one of the cast are at the top of their game here (especially Jack Lemmon and Al Pacino), with direction that never loses focus and of course that screenplay by David Mamet. Highly recommended.
P. S.: I find it incredible that only Al Pacino was singled out for an Oscar nomination from this cast (deserving nomination IMO), virtually all of them were nomination worthy in my view (especially Jack Lemmon). Interestingly, Pacino was double-nominated that year (Supporting Actor for this film and Best Actor for SCENT OF A WOMAN), marking his 7th and 8th acting nominations respectively with SCENT OF A WOMAN being his only ever win. What an incredible year it was for him."
