"A great adaptation of a novella called Story of Your Life, as aliens arrive to make contact with humanity for an unknown reason. A linguist is brought in to learn the alien’s language while the aliens learn ours, overtime the linguist begins to understand the alien language with and why the aliens traveled to Earth!"
"Arrival is much more than a typical science fiction tale. It dives deep into topics of communication, grief, choice, and the human experience, all set against the backdrop of a first-contact narrative. There isn't a ton of action, it is more of a thought provoking story, but well done. 7/10"
"Interesting watch but wouldn’t watch it again "

"What a great movie, really surreal scenes and great cinematography throughout. Explores contact and communication with aliens, I compare this to Contact with Jodie Foster. I didn't understand the first time viewing, this is my second time watching and understand a lot more. Nice sci-fi movie that is quite grounding to watch and see what unfolds through the eyes of Amy Adams character."
"4.5/5*s
This is a hard one for me to rate. There's a lot to think about. Nothing happens and everything happens.
There are no action scenes. It can seem too slow paced. It is nonlinear.
And yet it's a story about love and loss and language and time and choices. It makes me wonder about fate. Will things always happen the same due to fate or can we change our futures if we choose differently in any given situation, cognizant of what we are doing? "Oh no, I've said too much. I haven't said enough.""
