"A film of World War Two which you can watch after The Darkest Hour, which shows the rescue mission by military and civilian boats for the British and French armies that were trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk against the Germany army. Worth watching as it shows the toll of the war taken as the soldiers are brought back, the cost as the civilians helped to bring their countrymen and others home from certain death!"
"This is really the epitome of movies you watch for the experience. Dunkirk is as bare as a Hollywood film story can be and still be released, it's entirely focused on visuals and putting the audience in the boots of the main characters, and it succeeds splendidly. There are so many memorable aspects; specific shots that stick in my head, tiny character actions, the feeling of being moved by war from the sound alone. In its simplicity Dunkirk manages to be one of the most impactful war films I've ever seen."

"Not your typical war picture but a true depiction of historical events."

"Nolan loves to play with time and using time he made a straightforward story a bit fun and interesting. This movie is gorgeously shot. The horrors of the war were captured amazingly. The three part story structure was really intriguing. The fighter plane sequences were thrilling. The bravery was beautifully portrayed. The performances were brilliant especially from Cillian and Fionn. The score by Hans Zimmer was riveting. The cinematography looked stunning. For a war movie this lacked some strong emotions, the pacing is a bit dull. An underrated war flick."
