When a sedative she took from her doctor kicks in, however, she falls asleep on a park bench and is found by an American reporter, Joe Bradley, who takes her back to his apartment for safety. At work the next morning, Joe finds out Ann's regal identity and bets his editor he can get exclusive interview with her, but romance soon gets in the way.

"I had this film on my movie list forever, and I finally watched it. The plot is as charming as I have read. Audrey Hepburn does a great job in her first movie role. She has such a sweet and coy way of charming everyone she encounters. Gregory Peck is of course too old for her, but most of her leading men were at least a decade or two older than her during her career. Audrey and Gregory are good actors and have a fair amount of chemistry, but not in a romantic way, at least not to me. The entire film was shot in Rome, Italy. Sites such as the colosseum and other famous places are seen during the film. The acting is good, but the praise goes to Audrey Hepburn because of how regal she performed as a young princess who wants to have a day away from royal affairs."
"Great comedy in which two people lie to and take advantage of each other, but it's not as bad as it sounds. Audrey Hepburn is impossibly charming in her debut. SPOILER ALERT The ending is bittersweet, but realistic, given the era. The contrast between duty and love kinda makes it the rom-com version of Casablanca. "
"Gregory Peck stole my heart in this movie, and who doesn't love Audrey Hepburn already!"
