"Well…that was harrowing. It’s a docudrama about the lead up to and fallout (literally) of a global nuclear war on a working class city in England. The last hour is an incredibly visceral look at the post-bombing chaos as all aspects of society immediately collapse. I guess this was a huge hit on the BBC and in America on TBS, which is kind of crazy because I had always envisioned 1980s TV as being heavily sanitized. It’s really well done, as long as you have the stomach to watch it. 4 out of 5 stars."

"An unnerving feeling from start to finish, an impactful movie focused on a context that shows the consequences of a nuclear war, everything is done with a documentary tone, although the film is fictional and set in the Cold War period, everything is disturbing and pessimistic, the realism makes us reflect on how situations like this can occur at any time, as a result of the unstable politics of the world. A movie to think about."
"I think everyone should see this movie. "

"Every world leader should see this movie, now saying that I wouldn’t watch this again, as much as it’s impeccably well made. All the acting cinematography perfectly set the mood, the bombs being dropped is such well made, it’s the standard for portraying that subject matter in film, hands down. Not to mention it’s weird documentary thing with the report and stats coming in occasionally just is really cool (reminded me of the 1922 movie Haxan), almost makes the horror sting less. But other than that it’s not something I will watch again, but I’m glad I did nonetheless."

"THE quintessential nuclear war movie, it makes The Day After look like a walk in the park. Particularly disturbing is that despite the fact that this movie is 35 years old, the powderkeg that initiates the war is just as relevant today. Spoiler alert: there's no happy ending here."
