Great characters, enveloping plot. The dialogue is top notch. It incorporates Weegie (Glaswegian) words and Scottish english which is just an incredible touch. Note for younger readers it does have swearing and sexual innuendos along with the fact the MC is very proper and it might be a llliittlleee hard for younger readers to follow what he's saying.

Loved the descriptions of the camp and the side characters that get the spotlight to show the whole experience. The push and pull between the SS and the prisoners. The black market. The way the children think. And all from the perspective of a girl trying to make it through life and the camps. Loved it all

Over dramatized but a good read. It brings you along for the ride, it might make you laugh, it might make you cry and you can get invested easily.
