"S2 starts tonight! 🏀 In S1 we saw the L.A. Lakers secure the NBA title in 1980. S2 follows that win & will take place in 1980-1984. The “Magic” Johnson 🆚 Larry Bird rivalry is set to be center stage in S2. Parenthood will also be explored in S2, as Jerry Buss (owner) attempts to bring in his sons to the enterprise, & Magic & Kareem welcome new kids & grapple with that milestone event, & Larry Bird will deal w/his complicated relationship with his dad.  https://youtu.be/z76liPf7o-4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m no prude, but this series about the heyday of the Lakers 𝯀 is super raunchy 𝨝 — almost shockingly so & to the point where I don’t want to look at my screen whenever they show John C. Reilly’s super sleazy, cocky character in a sex scene (He plays the owner of the Lakers) & I’d be way uncomfortable watching this show in the same room as anyone (I have to watch this one alone)… Otherwise, it’s a GREAT show, hahaha! 𝨉 (Good storylines, excellent cast). I❤️my 1980’s!"

"Fantastic series, great cast, great 80's feel. So why the low rating? Well, the ending of S2 E7 was crap. Since HBO canceled the series, they just threw in a bunch of PowerPoint slides explaining how everything shaked out. Truly disappointed in HBO."

"(binged in 24 hrs while watching playoffs every night :) just about perfect series about the showtime era (although creative license taken regarding how some events happened) of the Lakers beginning with the signing of Magic Johnson to 1st NBA contract and Dr Jerry Buss’ ownership of his 1st NBA team. I’m a basketball fan but you don’t need to be. Great underdog story. Personal lives of the players, coaches and Buss are explored which are quite interesting (particularly loved the touching relationship of Jerry Buss & his mom played by Sally Field) Great performances, soundtrack, breaking of the 4th wall, nostalgia of ‘79 music, clothing etc and use of old film quality to make this an all around great watch. Season 2 coming soon! "

I loved seeing all the conflicts from the teammates to the coaches to the people behind the scenes.
