Melissa CraverI watched this show all the way through in a binge and then made my family watch it with me immediately after I finished in a binge as soon as I was done because I had to have people to talk to about it. Once you suspend your disbelief at the bizarre plot that immediately opens the series, the earnest performances of Paul Rudd and Aisling Bea had me hooked. It’s funny, suspenseful, shocking, silly and downright crazy in places but never predictable.

Melissa CraverOne of my absolute favorite Disney films for its Olde English setting animation, plot that has romance, (Maid Marian), potential treason, subterfuge, disguises, humor, fear of our hero being caught & ultimately good conquering evil! Also has a soundtrack w/2 of my favorite songs including the rooster narration & song refrain “Oo-De-Lally” heard throughout & “Love.” I can never get enough of the whiny thumb sucking Prince John & the duplicitous antics of his sidekick snake, Sir Hiss. Little John & Robin Hood’s rebellion against overtaxation leads them to steal $ back & return the gold to the poor (my fave being to the rabbit family-w/the little girl who has a crush on Robin & Skippy who is gifted a bow and arrow/hat for his bday from Robin Hood).❤️
Melissa CraverLoving this! Although I’m a huge true crime fan (previously read true crime books and it’s always been a difficult wrestling in my heart/mind/soul to consume any of it when I don’t want to ever consider the brutal loss of someone’s loved one as entertainment and I never forget that), I didn’t expect to watch a 2nd movie on this case. (Watched & liked Candy on Netflix.) However, I threw my back out and there it was…David E Kelley written/produced, & love the actors although I’ve never seen Elizabeth Olsen in anything & she’s knocking me out with her performance! David E Kelley based this on 2 magazine articles and a book (details titles in the extras) and says nothing characters say or do isn’t factual & nothing was added except dialogue since no one knows the words that were actually said. It concerns me that Betty is given almost no screen time and we are made to sympathize with Elizabeth Olsen’s Candy. (Whose performance is incredible.) I love trying to learn what makes a killer tick but only Candy knows what was really said when she went to that house to get Betty’s daughter’s bathing suit.
Melissa CraverBinged in 48 hrs. A story of road rage gone very wrong and although a propulsive edge of your seat plot that ends each ep leaving you wishing for more, the touching backstories of the characters help you see them as 3 dimensional characters and flashbacks flesh out what was happening in each of the MCs lives before they decided to behave so recklessly and continue to escalate their original “beef.” Really did show how 1 action could escalate into so many more. My only qualm was that the MC Amy said her goal in working so hard was to spend time with her daughter yet she was too shortsighted to see how her actions could put her in harms way. Other than that, the performances by Steven Yuen and Alli Wong were incredible and this series had everything including so much humor which was unexpected. I highly recommend.
Melissa CraverI binge watched all of this in one sitting. It deserves all the praise that it has received. I’d love nothing more than to binge it again. Perfectly paced, gorgeous set and costume design and an incredible performance by Anya Taylor Joy, one doesn’t have to know a thing about chess to be on the edge of your seat as you root for this chess prodigy plucked from an orphanage and her quest to reach the highest levels of chess competition which is akin to love/acceptance for her. Brilliant!
Melissa CraverThis movie is unbelievably tragic. Sometimes you can want something to be true so badly you will believe it but I also blame authorities who tell family members that time has passed & their loved one will look different. It does greatly influence things. It reminds me of the book “Mistaken Identity: Two Families, One Survivor, Unwavering Hope” about the misidentification of the 2 girls from the Taylor university crash in Indiana, 1 dead, 1 alive. They told the wrong family their daughter was alive but because of severe head trauma she’d look nothing like their daughter & would be confused. Every time they noticed things that made them question her identity, they reminded themselves of that. It’s amazing how susceptible our mind is to suggestion or explanation.
