" 4.5⭐️ I watched this right after the Janet Jackson doc and it was an interesting contrast. Both were sexualized and exploited as child stars in different ways. And both managed to overcome it and own their careers and sexuality in different ways. What happened to Brooke was so disgusting. Children have no idea what they’re going along with, in her case really to please her mother who in turn wanted to be included in an industry with no regard for women and children and no protection controls in place. Brooke was good at complying. I’m amazed that she, like Drew Barrymore, somehow got through it all without losing themselves, to become the strong, wise and compassionate role models they are now. "
