"I initially had no desire to watch a show about an oil company in Texas. But then I saw that it's from Tyler Sheridan who is on fire right now with shows like Tulsa King, Lioness, The Mayor of Kingstown, Yellowstone and its spinoff shows (which I haven't watched yet), so I figured I'll give it a try. I'm glad I did. The writing is excellent. Sheridan draws you into the world of the oil company troubleshooter, roughnecks, lawyers, and corporate executives and the many problems they experience on a day to day basis. Billy Bob Thornton is excellent as the foul mouthed, seasoned troubleshooter, who smokes and drinks too much as he deals with the oil company's problems while also navigating his dysfunctional family. I've watched the first two episodes and look forward to seeing how things develop. 8.5/10"

"This is how you start a series excellent first episode I love Billy Bob Thornton and of course any excuse to see Jon hamm but I do want to admit i think the relationship with Tommy and his duaghter is strange and uncomfortable sometimes but that just might be a me problem 😅🤣 if you are looking for a show to watch with your partner this has a good sprinkle of everything"

"I can’t preach Taylor Sheridan enough. This is yet ANOTHER masterpiece. The scenery, the music, the vibe, the acting! Billy Bob Thornton killed his role! I don’t believe no other actor could pull his character in this. From his quick smart-$$$ comments, to the way he handles his blonder than life ex wife/daughter… he does it perfectly. This is a great OilRig series. Unfortunately I need to wait for the last 2 episodes. Hoping on another season! Another gem! "

"Texas crude! Two episodes in, not yet impressed with Land Man, but I’m in Houston where the oil patch matters. Expect every Texas cliche - football to wildcatting. I would not partake except for Billy Bob. No one plays a foul-mouthed southern malcontent (or bad Santa) like he does. Billy’s ever-present sass is worth the Texas melodrama. I love that three oilmen (Billy, an engineer, and a lawyer) live like college students in a house near Midland. Will they still be roomies by Season 2? I would not make Land Man my replacement for Yellowstone. I see parallels in field hands and patriarchy, but I’m in early in Taylor Sheridan’s latest. "
