Set in a charming little Scottish town, The Bookshop of Second Chances is the most uplifting story you'll read this year! Shortlisted for the RNA Katie Fforde Debut Romantic Novel Award 2021. Thea’s having a bad month. Not only has she been made redundant, she’s also discovered her husband of nearly twenty years is sleeping with one of her friends. And he’s not sorry – he’s leaving. Bewildered and lost, Thea doesn’t know what to do. But, when she learns the great-uncle she barely knew has died and left her his huge collection of second-hand books and a house in the Scottish Lowlands, she seems to have been offered a second chance. Running away to a little town where no one knows her seems like exactly what Thea needs. But when she meets the aristocratic Maltravers brothers – grumpy bookshop owner Edward and his estranged brother Charles, Lord Hollinshaw – her new life quickly becomes just as complicated as the life she was running from... An enchanting story of Scottish lords, second-hand books, new beginnings and second chances perfect for fans of Cressida McLaughlin, Veronica Henry, Rachael Lucas and Jenny Colgan. "Picked this up for the title - am a fan of bookshops and who doesn’t need a second chance once in a while. Haven’t read this author before, but really enjoyed her writing and development of the main character. Perhaps somewhat predictable, a few modest twists, but mostly a good story that would qualify as for a great #beachread. "
"Nice story and writing style that had plenty going on, and kept each sub story moving and relevant. Would read this author again. "

"I adored this book! I usually get my romance fix from fanfiction, but this full-length novel had all the best parts of my fanfiction faves: a slow burn romance, a pinch of enemies-to-lovers, and a bookstore setting! (Dramione, anyone?) I loved the honest and often blunt dialogue, and I commend Fraser for the way she explores the fallout of Thea's marriage and Thea's reaction to the ways Chris moves on; I found it relatable but not disheartening, which is always admirable in a romance."

"When starting this book I thought it would have more to do with the bookshop than it actually did. I thought we would see the main character learn how to run a bookshop while also trying to figure out this new chapter of her life. In actuality we rarely ever learn anything about the bookshop other than the fact that there are multiple rooms dedicated to different genres. I just was expecting more from this."
