Ali Hazelwood
A competitive diver and an ace swimmer jump into forbidden waters in this steamy college romance from the Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis. Scarlett Vandermeer is swimming upstream. A Junior at Stanford and a student-athlete who specializes in platform diving, Scarlett prefers to keep her head down, concentrating on getting into med school and on recovering from the injury that almost ended her career. She has no time for relationships - at least, that's what she tells herself. Swim captain, world champion, all-around aquatics golden boy, Lukas Blomqvist thrives on discipline. It's how he wins gold medals and breaks records: complete focus, with every stroke. On the surface, Lukas and Scarlett have nothing in common. Until a well-guarded secret slips out, and everything changes. So they start an arrangement. And as the pressure leading to the Olympics heats up, so does their relationship. It was supposed to be just a temporary, mutually satisfying fling. But when staying away from Lukas becomes impossible, Scarlett realizes that her heart might be treading into dangerous water...

"Spicy slow burn college romance. BDSM exploration. A competitive swimmer and a competitive diver collide in this romance. I really wanted to like this romance ,but it was too slow for my taste. It’s a long listen on audio. I’ve enjoyed Ali’s other romances more. It’s not a bad book or bad narrators. It was just not for me. Others may enjoy it. It’s definitely a new adult listen."
"This was entertaining, but I think it could’ve been 100 pages shorter. It dragged and the long will-they-won’t-they started to be a bit much. Plus, I expected spice, but the spicy scenes were constant and began to get repetitive to the point where many felt unnecessary. The whole “BDSM to cure trauma” was also pretty far-fetched. A fast and semi-interesting read, but definitely not my favorite Ali Hazelwood book."

"Kinky af athletic romance.
I’ve yet to dislike any of Ali’s books so far.
This book is great if you like reading sports themed romances. This is swimming and diving in particular and focusing on controlling and perfectionist personalities. Although the kink stuff isn’t for me, I overall really enjoyed this book and the story. I’d say to give it a shot even if this isn’t the typically romance book you’d pick up."
