THE FIRST MERCY THOMPSON NOVEL!Moon Called is the novel that introduced Patricia Briggs’s Mercy Thompson to the world and launched a #1 bestselling phenomenon... Mercy Thompson is a shapeshifter, and while she was raised by werewolves, she can never be one of them, especially after the pack ran her off for having a forbidden love affair. So she’s turned her talent for fixing cars into a business and now runs a one-woman mechanic shop in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State. But Mercy’s two worlds are colliding. A half-starved teenage boy arrives at her shop looking for work, only to reveal that he’s a newly changed werewolf—on the run and desperately trying to control his animal instincts. Mercy asks her neighbor Adam Hauptman, the Alpha of the local werewolf pack, for assistance. But Mercy’s act of kindness has unexpected consequences that leave her no choice but to seek help from those she once considered family—the werewolves who abandoned her...“In the increasingly crowded field of kick-ass supernatural heroines, Mercy stands out as one of the best.”—Locus

"As A Young Middle School All The Way High School Reading Every Vampire Book I Could Get My Hands On I Thought I Have Read It All This Was Totally Different For The Paranormal Genre Embraces All Types Of Species Without Being Cheesy It Just Seems Natural And The Main Character Is Bad Ass This Was So Refreshing And I Can Highly Recommend Dont Pass It Up"
"This is probably my favorite urban fantasy series ever! It has everything! Werewolves, Vampires, Fae, Eitches, and other various supernatural creatures! Mercy Thompson is a kickass main character, and I absolutely adore her! There are so many fun, lovable main and side characters in this series! The character growth of both Mercy and her friends throughout this series is amazing! It's a really fun, fairly clean series! I 100% recommend checking out the Mercy Thompson World!"
"3.5 star

While this rating I rather low I did enjoy this book. Mercy was a fun protagonist. She wasn't beholden to anyone even in a room full of dominant males. She was funny and quick witted and the logical puns seemed to never end. And although Mercy was a boss in the fighting ring she also had limitations and knew them well, so I respected that.

The plot was interesting even though it was slow I could tell that in later books this story could open up into something really amazing. The first one just didn't quite make the mark for me. While some of the characters were complex others seemed to blended together. Again the plot was so slow at times I often zoned out unless someone I like entered the room. And this might be girlish of me but I did wish the romance had picked more.

The plot though interesting didn't feel nailed down and definitely could have been beefed up. The last few chapters kind of came to a jumbled end as well. A lot of things just felt unresolved even after they came to a close. For instance like were another author would sit on something and let it stew Briggs seemed to move on rather quickly. Still I enjoyed the characters and learning about the rules of the world Brigg's has built."
"I really enjoyed this book. I love how Mercy is the one taking charge and getting stuff done. I look forward to reading the other books in the series. "

"I love Mercy. She's tough as nails and puts thought into everything she does. I love her prettiness with her car, though! 😆 "

"I didn't want to put this down! The world-building is very thorough and realistic. I enjoyed this "not-your-typical-werewolf -story" with the main character getting caught up in fae politics. Can't wait to read the rest of the series!
NOTE: Contains mentions of arousal and non-sexual nudity, some language but none explicit that I can remember"
"Just finished this one! Enjoyed it a lot, wasn’t as much romance as I was expecting going in but that wasn’t an issue. I really liked the lore for werewolves in this one and the characters were all fantastic. Just wish that Mercy had more female friends/allies than just Jesse (though I love the dynamic those two have)."
