""A woman risks everything to end her family’s centuries-old curse, solve her mother’s disappearance, and find love, " the condensed book blurb says everything you need to know about this book without any spoilers.
The Unmaking of June Farrow was beautifully written with characters you love and hate. You'll feel lots of emotions while reading.
Content warnings- one not explicit sex scene, some blood, suicide, death of a loved one, and mental health issues. "
"I flew through this book in less than 24 hours as the mystery draws you in and keeps you reading. The plot is original, and extremely well thought out. The love that traverses different times and generations is beautiful, especially between the Farrow women. Wonderful story-telling. "
"Not what I expected and not your usual read. Way better!!"

"This book falls under the categories of quest, nonlinear timeline, underdog, and romance. The main focus I wouldn’t say is the romance though because there is just so much more that pulls the plot than the love part of the story. It was very interesting where the story was taken from start to finish. This book includes time travel as well as piecing together a mystery as you gain memories with the main character.
The characters felt flushed out, I felt like I was watching their story unfold and come together. June and her ancestor are so much of what makes this story whole. At times it was hard trying to piece together the timeline. As the chapters kept coming, we keep gaining more and more information along with June so the story slowly unfurls into the words. This was a beautiful read, it feels to me like sci-fi/fantasy meets small town familial curse. It was a twisty-turny book for me and I couldn’t decide what I thought the character would do as she was faced with a tough decision. I can’t say it was completely unpredictable but there was so many layers to it that it is impossible to have seen all of the possibilities to where this story would lead. It very much felt like I was growing along with June as her life unravels and her life is changed by the events of uncovering the secrets that not only her town holds but her family as well.
This book kept me interested from jump. Although it’s set in real life with mentions of Asheville and Charlotte, North Carolina, it has a sense of magical realism and mystery that really makes you think and hone in on what you’re reading. Until the end I was left questioning the outcome of the story. The story focuses on the themes of identity, family, love, and sacrifice, while showing the incredible strength of the Farrow women.
I think if you enjoy the idea of time travel, magical realism, or mystery then this book will definitely surprise you. If you love a beautifully written story, definitely pick this up. "
"4.5 ⭐️ Holy smokes…what did I just read?!? This book was so freaking good. Usually my brain can’t handle time bending stories, but this author did a great job at balancing the pieces. My brain is still trying to process some of the details. The plot was so engaging and included a cursed family, multiple timelines and a murder mystery. I could not put it down. "
"This book is simply amazing! The story follows June Farrow, who is determined to end her family’s long-standing curse and uncover the truth about her mother’s mysterious disappearance. When she steps through a mysterious door, she embarks on a journey through time, unraveling hidden secrets about her family’s past and her own future. The blend of supernatural elements with the deep emotional core makes the book captivating. Along the way, June becomes entangled in a love story that crosses timelines, adding a poignant layer to her mission. The mix of romance, family loyalty, and the quest to resolve the curse kept me hooked from beginning to end. It’s truly unique and gripping, with each twist revealing more about June’s resilience and the depth of the family mystery. I couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook and highly recommend it."
