"Other than the fact that the setting of thos film is supposed to be Budapest, and two actors are European, everything else about it is American. The setting only makes sense because this movie is based on the Hungarian play written in 1937. I enjoyed seeing a very young James Stewart as an earnest man trying to succeed in life. This is a sweet, funny, and romantic film about two shop clerks that don't realize that they have been writing each other as pen pals. They really don't know each other well, since their persona in each letter is very different from that at work. The conflicts are very funny and sometimes very frustrating. Overall, this is a clean film the entire family can enjoy. (This film was the basis for "You've Got Mail," starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.)"
"3.5 stars a good classic oldie."
