"Horrortober 2022 Day 18 The first time I saw Host was during the pandemic era when it first came out. At that time I really enjoyed it very much because it matched our everyday life so much. Everywhere you looked somebody was using Zoom then. Now on my second watch I just found all these girls to make uncharacteristic actions the whole time. Like she wouldn’t do that or they wouldn’t just sit in the house watching there friends die on by one. Usually films don’t get worse to me but this just seem to do the opposite. I will say they did have some cool practical stunt work. I just can’t fully enjoy a horror film built off mainly jump-scares. And the character Jemma she might be the most annoying character I’ve ever seen in a horror film . The first watch can be very entertaining but don’t expect nothing to write home about."

"They manage to pack a lot in with the short run time. They took the best parts from movies like paranormal activity and unfriended. The short run time meant no waiting for stuff to happen with a much cleaner screen presentation to take in the things going in in the background. The acting is pretty solid. A seance online gone wrong is a pretty original setup. They do telegraph some of the scares but still manage some surprises here and there. A most watch for thriller horror fans.
