Salvatore "Sal" Fragione is the Italian owner of a pizzeria in Brooklyn. A neighborhood local, Buggin' Out, becomes upset when he sees that the pizzeria's Wall of Fame exhibits only Italian actors. Buggin' Out believes a pizzeria in a black neighborhood should showcase black actors, but Sal disagrees. The wall becomes a symbol of racism and hate to Buggin' Out and to other people in the neighborhood, and tensions rise.

"My favorite movie that Spike Lee ever made. Even though this movie came out in 1989 it is still relevant today. A great cast has helped turn this movie into a cult classic. A young Giancarlo Esposito is unrecognizable as Buggin Out and plays a great part. This movie takes a hard look at racism and can get uncomfortable to watch at times but needs to be seen by everyone at least once. Highly recommended. 9.5/10"

"It’s a shame how relevant the themes of Do the Right Thing still are today, 34 years later. All of the issues explored in the movie—police brutality, the human instinct to judge and label people as “others” or “enemies”, hate overpowering love—are aspects of modern society that we’re still struggling with. It’s astounding that at age 32 Spike Lee created something this culturally resonant. If I had a “100 movies everybody should watch before they die” list, Do the Right Thing would definitely make the cut."

"This movie was honestly pretty stressful to watch and I was pretty annoyed with the characters actions half of the time. I feel not everyone will be able to watch this all the way through. I do know that the movie has a great and meaningful message but the approach was sad to watch story wise. It is a great piece of filmmaking; it's just a depressing movie."

"Damn good movie right here especially the ending very explosive ending it actually made the movie, I knew something was going to happen it was just too much tension , that pizza store was there for 25 years it only took 15 minutes to burn it down what a very sad scene that was The ending of this movie probably one of the most saddest parts I ever seen in a movie.."
