"A near 🌟7/10🌟 for me — mainly for the solid performance by Aubrey Plaza 👍🏾 She makes a #Believable #BadAssBitch🤫 and I loved her scene with equally formidable Gina Gershon 🤩 There weren’t a ton of plot twists in this #crimethriller, but this story of a woman’s deep descent into the dismal world of the L.A. crime scene was done well; there was good character-development & tension & excellent performances by all (Theo Rossi also gave a great performance in TRUE STORY as the obsessive, annoying, & creepy fan of Kevin Hart). ~ If you’re currently enjoying #AubreyPlaza in #WhiteLotus this could definitely be a watch-option for you before this Sunday’s S2 finale on 12/11/22."
"I almost didn't watch this one because I'm not a fan of Aubrey Plaza. I don't hate her, but I just don't see what all the hype is around her. That being said I thought she did a good job in this film. A good movie that held my attention throughout, and I enjoyed seeing Theo Rossi in a different role that I've seen from him in the past. A solid B."

"I never saw a trailer for this or even read a description, so I went in completely blind, and the plot was not at all what I expected. Based on the title, I assumed was already a criminal and that this movie was about either a) how things went badly for her or b) how she got out of crime. Neither ends up being the case, simply because she wasn't already a criminal. There are moments I love Emily's bluntness and bold nature; there were moments I hated her stupidity (to be elaborated in a reply since it's a spoiler). In general, the movie was good, though I think there was some room for improvement, it's an entertaining film. I'd probably give it 7/10"

I can’t believe I waited so long to see this wonderfully crafted crime thriller. Aubrey Plaza took this role and made it something special. I’m so use to her deadpan humor on Park and Recs (she’s definitely one of my favorite characters) that I didn’t even know she had such a acting range outside comedy. This is my type of film all the way around. It’s super engaging from front to back. Theo Rossi is a nice addition to the story and is a phenomenal actor I don’t think I’ve ever seen him underplay a role. His chemistry with Plaza comes off as a very real bond. This is a extremely impressive piece of work that I’m glad I got a chance to see. Anybody reading this review and haven’t seen it yet I urge you to change that narrative. She has definitely earned my respect and convinced me to watch a couple of films from her that has been on my watchlist for a while now. This is a must watch for anybody honestly. #crimethriller #aubreyplaza #highlyrecommended "

"I loved both Aubrey and Theo’s performances. And I liked the simple plot of the movie. It made for a very grounded film. Which after watching I realize I prefer a lot more. Aubrey did a great job and I honestly hope to see her in more than just comedies. Not too much else to say. I also like the reason she decided to steal because she just couldn’t pay off her student loans. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending. I don’t really like when someone continues the cycle of whatever the plot is. But honestly for this specific movie it works. Mainly because of Emily. She starts of doing it because she has to. You also see her early in the film, be a lot more tense and uneasy stealing. But later in the film. You can see her crave it more. Constantly looking at her phone for the reply. Even during conversations with her friend. She literally becomes a criminal. One last thing I want to say is. That one scene where they blurred out the money falling. I thought that was neat. "
