Several generations following Caesar's reign, apes – now the dominant species – live harmoniously while humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all he's known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

"As I said with my review of the last movie of the previous sequel, I give this apes movie four stars because of the realistic looking primates and apes. The gutteral sounds the apes make seems to make sense for how speech might work. The first two acts of the film are good. A peaceful ape world is set up and we see pieces of what might be human settlements. As with the previous movies, one ape seeks to preserve the peace of their existence and keep his tribe united, but rebel apes want to change that. The last act of the movie takes a strange turn, at least to me, and seems a mere plot device to set up the second movie, which no doubt there will be since these movies have always had many sequels, and even a short-lived TV series. But, overall, the plot was easy to follow, the actors behind the apes were good at emoting, and there was a fair amount of action with some animal violence. Judge it for yourself. After all, this movie IS about apes, so you can't take it TOO seriously! 😂"
"A great beginning of the second trilogy of the reboot to Planet of the Apes, as the first minutes are a nod to the first trilogy and how far the setting came to the original film series! Centered at the start of the film with three apes as they work to join the Eagle Clan climbing to what is needed for their ceremonies, only for a conflict to come about as one ape journeys about the new world as we see settings of the original film series start to take place!!"
"This new iteration of the franchise falls a little flat IMO. Both the cinematography and CGI are excellent in this film, but there is a pacing issue, and the runtime should have been shorter. The story isn't bad but I felt they could have done more with it. Also, the characters don't really stand out, other than the human female lead and the main antagonist ape. Not a bad movie, I just was hoping for more. 6.5/10"
"This is a great continuation of the reboot that started in 2011, with more to come. Set about 100 years after the reboot started. It’s mind blowing what CGI can do now. The apes are amazing. Freya Allan, Ciri from The Witcher, is really good. It’s not action packed, but an actual character driven movie. But when the action does come it’s thrilling and awesome. "

It’s nice that this movie at least continues the Caesar story. I doubt the new Alien film will continue the story of David.
The movie is about Noe (Owen Teague) who is taught the true ways of Caeser by Raka (Peter Macon). So when Noe is taken and forced to worship Proximus Caeser (Kevin Durand). Who twists Caesar’s words. For his own gain.
Noe sees through Proximus and just wants to rescue his tribe from Proximus. With help of a human he barely trusts. However Noe tries to trust Nova (Freya) Allen since Caeser once trusted humans.
The film isn’t better than the three previous ones. It is much than the sequels to the original movie. As well as better than the Mark Wahlberg film. It can be slow but when there’s action it is well done and exciting."
"So was really excited for this ever since the trailer came out a while back. I was a huge fan of the modern trilogy. Probably going to rewatch for sure after this. Sadly I didn’t love this.
I was planning on watching this a lot farther from now but was pretty ****** today so just watched it.
Honestly the biggest issue is the run time. I feel like if some of the first half and middle were cut I would have enjoyed it a lot more.
Plus who decided to barely put any action. I’m pretty sure there was only like 6 action scenes maybe less. The side characters are not as interesting as the first.
I did like Mae I liked her and how her Noa don’t at all click. I found that to be a good move. Plus Raka mainly because he just was super chill. The villian was cool mainly the actual performance.
The story felt like It was going to be a lot more but felt very underwhelming.
When their is action it is entertaining especially with the gorilla. Plus the bird thing was cool at the end.
Speaking of the birds thought they were very underused. Hope to see them more the next movie.
One Noa complaint while not really but. I heard people say he was really smart and I thought that would be interesting. But it rarely is shown. He uses the pole to climb up in the very beginning which was cool. And he fixed the electric staff thing. But unless my tired self forgot I really think that was it.
Honestly this review might not be my greatest because of me not sleeping well. But I still did enjoy it just not as much as the past movies.
I do think the setting and visuals are probably the best part of this. Not that the first movies were bad just. This movie has a lot more to look at.
Random things I noticed. Why is Mae one of the few humans with clothes. Why do the young apes talk more clearly and faster then the older ones. Spoiler!!!!! Why did mae randomly kill that guy. It makes sense why but It just felt like it was out of nowhere. "
