"A great series adaptation from the book series of the name, as Percy Jackson finds himself brought into a world he only scratched the surface of when he was younger!! Three heroes begin their first of many journeys into the world as they battle with a goal to bring peace before a war starts!"
"It was interesting, but I did enjoy the movie more than the show regardless of the show being more similar to the book. The acting was great and the scenes were action packed. "

"Just finished season 1. It was really entertaining but some of the acting is just plain bad (I guess that happens with kid actors sometimes). Percy actor is holding the kids cast. I'd say it was good enough if you're looking for something easy to watch (keep your phone close if you don't know much about mythology)."
"You can't help but compare it to both the books & movies. This one does its own thing, though, while staying true to its source material. We don't have every episode out, cuz Disney milks everything nowadays, yet they've already accomplished so much the movie never got to. Its world-building far exceeds the movies. However, when it comes to offering explanations to non book fans, it falls short at every turn. Its audience is clearly the book lovers and nobody else. It requires you to have that knowledge or have someone with you who does when you watch it to explain the things it won't. Luckily, I had someone with me who loves the books. She could explain what the show refused to expand on.
As I told my friends, the show fails to flow like the movie does. The story is crunchier in a way. You feel every shift & change in the plot by the way the pacing works. It helps you understand why the movie went the way it did. It's not that it's bad, it's just that there is no flow & the storyline is tougher overall.
Now for the CGI. It's atrocious. Luckily, the pilot episode made sure to not make it bad in order to hook its audience, but after that, it just goes so wrong so fast. Every moment with the centaurs is so awful & you can see them trying to avoid putting him to where you can see him and the horse body at the same time. Plus, due to his outfit, he doesn't quite pull off the look. Maybe it matches the book, but every time I watch him, the suspension of disbelief is utterly broken. All I see is an actor trying to be a centaur. That's it.
Finally, the characters. They're fun, they have that book feel. As in, they have more depth that you won't figure out until you've finished the first season, which we won't get for a while. For those of us keeping up with the show as it releases, it may be a while before they feel truly authentic.
Still, its plot is there, and it does hook you, which can suck as you wait till the end of the month for the season finale."
"I think I might have enjoyed the movie more tbh. Never read the books so don't know how close either format is to the story.
The artwork on this movie is awesome, which is why it's such a shame that they don't give them more time or moments. Medusa was cool and stunning and was shown less that 3 seconds. What's the point in a beautiful unique style if you're not gonna give it the space to be enjoyed.
A lot of the curve for the animals was goofy but I'm also biased because I'm first in line for puppetry. It stands up better over time and looks less janky."
